BENEFITING: Imerman Angels
From high school, to college, to my 30s, I always ran for one reason: run for a fast time. In 2017, I find myself running for something bigger than all of us. Earlier this year, my good friend Ryan Chiaverini lost his mother after a long battle with cancer. She was a fighter and during the chemotherapy, radiation and treatment, she never lost a sense of who she was. She stayed positive. Ryan and his twin brother Darrin were very close to their mother. I know how devastated they were saying goodbye to the woman who raised them. Even though I never met Edna Avery, I felt like I knew her and couldn't help but cry. The most important thing I learned was to never give up and to always stay positive. Ryan has always been that man. I look up to him very much and since we are in the same career field, hes become my older brother. So this October 2017, I'm running for you and your family. I'm running so one day we find a cure for an illness that's devastated so many of our loved ones. I hope you'll join me in raising money to fighting cancer.
