I've been volunteering at Tree House since October of 2007, two to three times a week. They are the largest cats only shelter in the city, and the oldest. They have a low-cost spay-neuter clinic, where people can take their animals in to get spayed or neutered at a reduced rate. Tree House supports a TNR program where feral cats (including the ones in my colony at work) are spayed and neutered, vaccinated, and microchipped, and returned to their colony where they can live out their lives in an environment they are most comfortable in. There is a pet food pantry, where low-income pet guardians or feral colony caretakers can receive supplementary pet food. Additionally, Tree House has an animal assisted therapy program where we bring cats to hospitals and nursing homes to help revitalize residents.
