Not many people know how deadly aneurysms are until they faced with one. Our mother, Bridget passed away suddenly of an abdominal aortic aneurysm in February 2010.
Last year we wanted to do something to celebrate her anniversary and to memorialize her in a way that was special and uplifting. Through the help of our wonderful family and friends we were able to raise $4,000 to give to St. Jude Children's Hospital. We were able to enjoy a special night celebrating one of the most generous and loving women we have ever known.
This year we will be holding another event on her birthday - May 18th. For our friends and family that are unable to attend the event, this is a way you can donate. Since we are limited to a smaller space we would like to reach out to anyone else that would be willing to donate in her name to St. Jude Children's Hospital.
There is not much that can be done when an aneurysm ruptures. Before our mom was diagnosed with an aortic aneurysm four days before she passed, we had no knowledge of what it was or how dangerous it was. Hopefully, with some help from you we can raise money to donate to a charity that our mom would be proud to donate to while spreading awareness about aneurysms.
Our project started off with the proceeds going to the American Heart Association, however we decided to change it to St. Jude Children's Hospital. Our mother loved kids more than anything. Her face lit up everytime she had the chance to interact with a child and her smile wouldn't fade for hours after. Therefore after much consideration we decided to donate all of the proceeds to St. Jude Children's Hosptial.
Last year we surpisingly made almost $4,000. We hope to be able to raise that amount again this year. Thank you for stopping by.
