Bridgeway Academy

Bridgeway Academy is a non-profit organization with a mission to meet the educational and therapeutic needs of children with autism and other developmental disabilities.

No two students diagnosed with a developmental disability learn the same way. Bridgeway Academy’s highly trained staff works collaboratively, providing a supportive and compassionate learning and therapeutic environment that meets the individual needs of each student.

The Education Center is a private school that follows a traditional academic-year calendar. It features small classroom sizes and unparalleled student-to-teacher ratios for students in early-intervention/preschool through high school. Classroom instruction is individualized for each student’s need and learning style. The center’s education model is unique. Classroom teachers focus on academics and collaborate with the center’s Speech, Occupational, Physical and Music therapists. Children who are typically developing participate in many classrooms and act as models for their peers.

Camp Bridgeway is a critical component of the services offered at Bridgeway Academy. Camp Bridgeway provides students with important physical, recreational and social opportunities. The ability to get outside, to run and to play is important for all children with or without disabilities.

More than thirty highly-qualified and certified therapists provide services to both the students enrolled in the Education Center as well as those who come to the Therapy Center strictly for therapeutic services. No other similar center in central Ohio employs this number of therapists or offers these kinds of services in one place. Bridgeway Academy’s therapists have specialized training, present at conferences and receive national recognition for the work they do at Bridgeway Academy.

The center’s Psychological Services team and Board Certified Behavior Analysts (BCBA) provideindividual student consultations and participate in small group and collaborative therapy sessions. The team also provides Psychological, Developmental, Behavioral and Diagnostic Assessments for families, leading to better diagnosis and treatment strategies.
