THE STORY:

I'm a quadriplegic raising funds through Bridging Bionics Foundation for a Galileo Neuromuscular Tilt Table to help regain strength and overall mobility.

I’m reaching out to you to ask for your support in my pursuit for a better quality of life. Just nineteen months ago I sustained a cervical spinal cord injury after a gunshot accident left me paralyzed. It has taken many months to adjust to my new life and I have a newfound appreciation for the things I miss the most – using my hands for independence, feeling the tallness of my body, and freedom of mobility. Our bodies were made for mobility and it is my hope that I will continue to regain strength in my torso and limbs.

With the assistance of Bridging Bionics Foundation, I am raising funds to acquire a vibrational training device that will increase my circulation, bone density, hopefully help reduce my intense pain, and help reduce my spasticity and tone so that I can work towards decreasing my daily medications. My fundraising goal for the campaign is $20,000, which is the cost (including shipping) for a Galileo Neuromuscular Tilt Table. I am asking for your support to help me reach my goal by Thanksgiving Day. I can’t do this without you, my community, my friends, and my loved ones. Please help spread the word with as many friends as possible.

About the Galileo Neuromuscular Training System

Galileo’s side-alternating stimulation systems are a powerful whole-body tool that has shown great results providing functional neuromuscular training and recovery. In the last 10 years scientists have also shown that the brain and the spinal cord have the ability to learn and relearn after neural injury with highly repetitive activity based interventions. Instead of activating the muscles voluntarily, the principle of Galileo is to evoke involuntary muscle contractions. This happens directly through using the afferent and efferent nervous system to induce thousands of reflexive muscle contractions - all in a matter of minutes.

Clinical Treatment Advantages

• Reduction of spasticity and management

• Optimizes neuromuscular recovery and accelerates early rehabilitation

• Engages afferent and efferent reflex-based muscle stimulation

• Recruits small & large antagonistic muscles in lying to standing position

• Improves muscle balance, function, power and force

• Provides 4,500 contractions in 3 minutes at 25Hz Spinal Cord Injury

• Reduction of spasticity and management

• Improvement of neuromuscular recovery and plasticity

• Improvement of balance muscle function, force and power

• Improvement of blood flow

• Improvement of circulation and the lymphatic system

• Higher bone mass and osteoporosis prevention

• Back pain treatment and prevention

• Whole-body stimulation in a laying, sitting and standing position

Bridging Bionics Foundation will honor 100% of all donations towards my campaign.

Thank you for your loving kindness and support. Together you will help me reach my goal so I can use the Galileo Neuromuscular Tilt Table daily to gain more mobility and a better quality of life.

With love,

James (my girlfriend Anna, and my mom, Sam)
