I am walking for cats like Athens, who can't walk for himself!
Athens was found under a garbage bin, his gentle "meow" a cry for help. He was 2 months old, in dire condition, and unable to walk. X-rays revealed that this sweetheart had suffered a severe and untreated spinal injury, leaving him unable to use his hind legs. Athens was rescued and is now safe at Tree House! Sadly, the damage to his legs cannot be reversed with surgery. However, with daily physical and joint therapy, Athens has adapted very well. Seemingly unphased by his condition, he slides/runs down the hallway and zips around corners. We are hopeful for his continue improvement. Athens loves to cuddle and has an infectious gaze that melts the heart of everyone he meets, and is hoping one big heart will adopt and love him forever. Everyday at Tree House, we rescue cats who have nowhere else to go, and who are often euthanized at traditional shelters. Our cat rescues stay at Tree House for as long as it takes to heal, rehabilitate, foster, and find their forever homes. As a non-profit with more cats than dollars to serve the city's discarded kitties, WE NEED YOR HELP. Please donate and/or share this team fundraising page to help cats like Athens get another chance at life, love, safety, health, and happiness. Thank you! ~Brigette & Tree House Humane Society
