THANK YOU to all of you that have helped me reach and pass my goal! We were rowing teammates at Northeastern and I am really excited that we are now BWH Marathon teammates!!!
Together we can make a difference and achieve life-giving breakthroughs at Brigham and Women’s Hospital!
In the words of BWH President Betsy Nabel, M.D., “Our mission centers around life—discovering new treatments for disease and improving the quality of life for our patients and their families, locally and globally. We have a long-standing history of transforming the future, and we intend to build upon this remarkable foundation. To enable all that we envision, we’re embarking on an important journey focused on ‘giving’ that will allow us to achieve even greater heights of excellence.” Life. Giving. Breakthroughs. is a comprehensive campaign dedicated to sustaining and fueling the quality patient care, innovative training, and life-changing discoveries that will benefit both current and future patients.
This capital campaign is the largest in our hospital’s history, and I am encouraged by the opportunities this money can create for our research laboratories. My lab at the Asthma Research Center is dedicated to conducting research that advances the treatment and understanding of asthma. Over 34 million people have been diagnosed with asthma, which is a disease that can limit a person’s ability to work, play, exercise or even carry out their everyday functions. Running 26.2 miles is difficult, and I can only imagine how much harder that would be for someone with asthma. I’ll be running in support of all our participants, and also for the physicians and scientists striving to improve their quality of life.
