EVENT: 2015 Boston Marathon
EVENT DATE: Apr 20, 2015
I'm an Alzheimer researcher in the Shi Lab of Epigenetic Medicine at this wonderful hospital. Alzheimer's disease is a tragic neurodegenerative condition affecting many of our loved ones. The work that Brigham and Women's hospital does in order to better understand and treat this crisis is truly groundbreaking and I am delighted to have the opportunity to combat it. I'm a former high school science teacher and soon to be medical student. I'm also an avid runner hoping to complete my first Boston Marathon this spring after being inspired by the show of strength demonstrated by this city after the marathon bombings. Let's support this great cause together and show Alzheimer's disease why we're Boston Strong.

A proud partner with the Boston Athletic Association (B.A.A.), Brigham and Women’s Hospital (BWH) is excited to present two exceptional Boston Marathon teams this year: our core BWH Marathon Team, which supports life-giving breakthroughs across all disciplines and disease areas at the hospital; and the Stepping Strong Marathon Team, initiated by a Boston Marathon bombing survivor, which fuels innovative research and clinical programs in trauma healing and limb reconstruction at BWH. Since 1998, our BWH Marathon Team has raised more than $6.6 million to support world-class patient-centered care, groundbreaking research, community programs, and education for the next generation of healthcare leaders. Thank you for supporting this transformational work.
