BENEFITING: Brigham and Women's Hospital
ORGANIZER: Brigham and Women's Hospital
EVENT: 2015 Boston Marathon
EVENT DATE: Apr 20, 2015
As a proud member of the Brigham and Women’s Hospital (BWH) 2015 Boston Marathon Team, I need your help to get across that finish line on April 20th and BWH needs your support in funding leading-edge biomedical research.
The BWH Life.Giving.Breakthroughs.Marathon Team is raising money across all research disciplines and I am thrilled to be raising funds for genetics and genomics research expert Robert C. Green, MD, MPH and his research team. I passionately believe that the new science of genomics will transform human health across the lifespan. His team is investigating how sequencing the entire DNA code of newborn infants can prevent childhood disease, what genetic clues may dramatically slow cognitive decline in Alzheimer’s disease and how to optimize the use of whole genome sequencing to revolutionize the practice of medicine.
Imagine a day when a drop of blood from the heel-prick of a newborn baby in your family predicts the best diet to help that baby avoid a childhood cancer or heart disease as an adult. Imagine drastically reducing allergic reactions to medications because your likelihood of dangerous drug reactions to new medications is “on file” with your genome. To learn more about these and other important research areas Robert and his team are pursuing, visit www.genomes2people.org.
Please give as generously as you can to help forge a future in which genomic research transforms all our lives. Your donation will also help inspire me, a novice runner, in a moment of personal transformation as I take on the challenge of training and completing my first marathon. Your donation is 100% tax deductible.
If you have any questions, please don’t hesitate to reach out to me.
Thank you for supporting this important research at the Brigham and Women’s Hospital.
