On November 5,2017 I am running the New York City Marathon for Team BRIGHT PINK. I chose to run for Team Bright Pink because this is something that unfortunatley will effect too many people. Whether it be yourself, a family member, a close friend, co-worker etc. The more people know how to detect / prevent breast and ovarian cancer, in the future the amount of people it effects gets lower and lower.
Bright Pink is the only national non-profit organization focused onprevention and early detection of breast and ovarian cancer in young women.Thier aim is to reach the 52 million young women in the United States between the ages of 18 and 45 with our innovative, life-saving breast and ovarian health programs, thereby empowering this and future generations of women to live healthier, happier, and longer lives.
Early Prevention and detection can save lives. I know numerous people who have beaten these types of Cancer's due to prevention and awareness because of organizations like Bright Pink (Thank you Bright Pink).
As I said earlier, these types of Cancer's effect everyone unfortunatley one way or another. For me, my great grandmother lost her battle to breast cancer. Also, one of my best friends mother lost her battle to breast cancer just this past year. So...Grandma Evans and Patricia Hagemann I am running for you.
Completing a 26.2 mile race is BIG...but doing it knowing I am helping the fight against these cancers to protect ourselves and the ones we love is even BIGGER to me. So thank you, thank you from the bottom of my heart for donating to this special Organization, your help means more than you know not only to just me but also to all the people this organization helps.
