As many of you know, I volunteer for a non-profit organization called Bright Beginnings Inc. in Washington, DC. Bright Beginnings provides homeless infants, toddlers, and preschoolers (aged six weeks to five years) with a safe, nurturing, educational environment. It prepares the children to enter kindergarten ready to learn, and also supports parents as they stabilize their home lives. Bright Beginnings serves approximately 139 children from 88 homeless families across the District.
Each year Junior League organizes a 5K race to benefit Bright Beginnings. This year’s race will take place at 8 a.m. on Saturday, March 2nd at West Potomac Park in Washington, DC. If you are interested in supporting Bright Beginnings, you can do so by registering to run or walk at http://bbi5k.eventbrite.com/#, or by donating through this website. Registration is $25 if you register by January 30th and $30 up until the day of the race. When registering, please enter "MVenk” as the promotion code and hit apply. All race participants receive a t-shirt and are eligible for raffle prizes! The race is a lot of fun and supports a great cause. I hope to see you there!
