Nicaragua is the 2nd poorest country in the entire western hemisphere. In Northern Nicaragua the people that reside in the small villages out in the country, live on less than $1 per day. There is no access to healthcare or clean drinking water. Corner of Love has a long-term commitment to fix this. I am joining the local chapter of Corner of Love to travel to San Ramon, Nicaragua for a mission trip this year.
My wife Debbie and I became involved with Corner of Love several years ago. We served on one trip and became hooked. It is now a long-term commitment and passion for us that has changed our lives. Today we sit on the board of directors, Debbie as the CMO and I am the Treasurer. We are also still involved with our local Chapter. I don't like to spam people but I know this is an incredibly efficient charity serving people that have nothing.
We will be setting up medical and dental clinics in 8 different villages to give needed healthcare to the poorest people in the region. Because there is no accessible healthcare, small ailments can be catastrophic. An infection that we would easily solve with antibiotics from the local pharmacy can be deadly. I have been several times and seen it firsthand. Someone has to help these people! That is what we do.
In addition, we will be distributing school shoes to the children that can't afford them. It is Nicaraguan law that children have shoes in order to go to school. Many families in the outlying villages cannot afford shoes for all of their children. Parents are faced with sending only one of their kids to school. We are going to make sure that 500 kids get to go to school that otherwise wouldn't!
I need your help! Any donation will help. Twenty dollars sends two kids to school with shoes or it will buy 20 doses of anti-parasite medication that will keep 20 people parasite free for 6 months. If you can help with a donation I would really appreciate it and the people we are serving will, too! God smiles when we all work together to serve the less fortunate. Thank you so much for making this trip possible.
