Bring Babayaga Back
Organized by: Erica Horsken
We purchased the Babayaga Farm located in Wolfeboro, New Hampshire. This historic barn and house was built circa 1814 and has now come into major dis-repair. We are starting a "Bring Babayaga Back" campaign to restore the beautiful farm back to its former glory. This farm has had a long and significant history, both locally and nationally. Originally built by the Nudd family of Greenland, the property was one of the first to be settled in Wolfeboro. It was also home the Chamberlin Family, whose son wrote the “Remember When” series for the local paper, the Granite State news. It was then sold to the Deutsch family and passed down to renowned physicist Martin Deutsch in 1962. Locally, the barn was used for dances, as a meeting house, and in 1943 it was enlisted in an all-out farm war production. The farm is being restored to a working farm with Certified Organic produce, cows, chickens, pigs and other livestock. The barn alone is going to need new beams, floorboards, paint, and windows. We appreciate any and all donations to help bring this amazing piece of history back into the present.
