Little "Nugget OH1021" was found wandering the streets of Dayton, OH in February. Thankfully through the great network of Facebook and animal lovers he was evaluated and rescued by the Montgomery County Animal Resource Center and then handed to the Midwest Boston Terrier Rescue where he was found a loving foster family. Nugget was found to only be around 2 years old! Poor guy was in a mess, he had evidence of being hit by a car, a skin infection, an undescended testicle, double ear infection, hair loss, and was underweight! To top it all off his eyesight was debateable. Through the support of the Midwest Boston Terrier Rescue, County Animal Hospital of Mason, OH, and a ton of love, good food, and medications, little Nugget is back to health!
Upon a thorough exam by the Animal Eye Institute it was discovered Nugget is 100% blind due to hereditary cataracts. Thankfully this is a treatable condition with a rather extensive surgery. Nugget is projected to have a 90% chance of complete eyesight recovery, which will only add to his quality of life. Due to his young age, allowing his cataracts to progress will result in further eye complications and potential removal in the future. The surgery is costly, by donating to this cause the funds all go directly to Nugget's eye surgery and medications for recovery. Any extra funds raised will go directly to Midwest Boston Terrier rescue to help continue their good works.
Currently Nugget is in a loving home where he is called "Blue" by his very own little boy. The family is committed to the care of "Blue" during and after surgery, and currently is his forever home provided they remain the best fit once his eyesight has returned.
