Hello!!!! I'm Jeff and my wife Heather and I want to bring youth hockey to the country of Panama. Yes, I said Panama. Being from the Midwest we have a strong connection to the sport and I would love to introduce it to the youth of Panama. My end game in all this is to build a community center with all sports for kids to enjoy. You might say to yourself, "how do you plan on having ice in the tropics?!?" well that's easy. With the new strides in Synthetic ice, anybody can skate at any time of the year. It's fun to see people skating in the warm sunshine!! So my goal is to begin the process of saving money so I can buy land, materials and begin dealing with all the legal paperwork so I can start building as soon as I can. Of course these things take time, but I believe with the help of others, we can bring the exciting sport of Hockey to the kids of Panama!! Our dream is to build a community center with counsellors and teachers to educate the kids of Panama about investing and saving money. It would provide an environment of learning and education. While they are learning they will also be able to play sports and learn about teamwork. Our community center would have all sports available with the option of hockey. You never know, maybe one day the NHL will have a flood of Panamanian hockey players. We imagine the facility to be in the Boquete,David or Volcan area. The weather in that area is eternal Spring like. Temps range from 60 to 80 degrees all year around. I can't think of a better place to spend my time teaching kids about the joys of sports and building a better life in the process. Please join us in this wild adventure to bring hockey and education to the youth of Panama!!!! This is our first step of many. The initial funds will be used to pay off current bills and debt which will lead to the next step of purchasing land and materials and finally to construction. Those who donate $50 or more to our dream will be cemented in history by having their names engraved forever on " The Wall of Fame" which will greet everyone who enters our facility.
