Bring An Inspiring Indian Yoga Teacher to America
Organized by: Adam Carney
EVENT DATE Oct 15, 2015
Last year while in India I met an amazing & humble yoga teacher named Gurumukh who helped me transform my life through yoga and meditation. I would like to bring him to America and help him start an organization because I believe he has a special gift and can help 1000's of others in the same way.
He has spent most of his life living in a monastery learning from many of the great indian masters, and has a unique ability to simplify teachings for people in the modern world. He does not teach from any religion or dogma, but from simple observations about life and nature. His joy and compassion is infectious and his wisdom is dearly needed here in America.
Our plan is to have him visit Los Angeles and travel around to other cities to visit friends he's made during his retreats and teacher trainings in india, including Chicago and New York. He's very interested connected with anyone and everyone he can. Please reach out to me email@example.com if you're interested in a class or just to hang out.
The money will go towards his travel & accomodations, and other expenses involved in setting up events and retreats. All the classes we arrange will be donation based.
He had 2 requirements for me creating this campaign:
1. That he not be referred to as any sort of Guru or enlightened master or anything like that. He comes from a tradition that historically hasn't allowed any images taken or marketing of their teachers. He actually doesn't even like when I call him my teacher, as even this creates a sense of seperation. Those of us who know him know him only as a great friend. He was a little hestitant to allow me to do this campaign and wants to make sure it's all done with the proper intention.
2. That no matter how much someone gives, even if only $1 or not at all, that they are still included the same as anyone else and given equal opportunity to all his events. Please let us know what we can do to support you in return for your contribution.
Here are a couple videos of Gurumukh sharing some stories with our class:
