EVENT DATE: Feb 02, 2014
Let me tell you about Vanessa Van Dyke and Tiana Parker. These young girls in Central Florida and Tulsa were told that their natural hair (styled in an afro and locs) had to be cut or put up to attend their schools. Every where we look around young black girls are told their hair texture, features, and body structure are ugly, whether blatantly or subtly. Every child should feel beautiful just the way God made them and their hair is no exception. Today I am asking you all to help me purchase dolls for the elevation of the self worth of our little sisters. If the $2000 goal is reached by Jan 20, 2014, I will be able to give these dolls custom hair styles that reflect the beauty we see everyday in the mirror and on the streets. Let's give these girls a friend in their own image.
