Bringing Technology into the Math Classroom
Organized by: Christina Brehm
In the past I have worked in districts that have had funding for technology in the classrooms. This technology included interactive boards for presenting lessons. This upcoming year I will be in a district that is still using overhead projectors and transparencies. Although this is a way to present lessons the benefits of using interactive boards (like SMART Board or Interwrite) are countless. Student engagement increases, options for presenting material in different ways improve, endless lesson plan creativity is more accessible, and student exposure to meaningful technology wonderful. I am hoping to raise about $1,000 by the beginning of August to purchase a board for my classroom. I am trained enough with Interwrite software to provide my school with in-house training and hopefully encourage the administration and other school staff to help me in securing funding for more of this type of technology to be brought into our high school. Any donation will help our school and our students take a step in the right direction by engaging them in their classes and exposing them to the latest technology that is available. Please strongly consider funding this effort. Thank you for your time and donation. .
