Help me help Bent On Learning continue to bring yoga classes to NYC public schools. By providing every child with their own mat and integrating the practice of yoga into their daily routine, Bent On Learning helps children learn to feel better about themselves, release stress, and calm their emotions— all of which makes them healthier and happier. And let’s face it: Kids need to be healthy and happy in order to learn.
At the end of each semester, the students complete surveys about their experiences in the class.
88% reported that they have a more positive attitude towards themselves
96% reported that they are kinder towards others
76% reported that they use breathing techniques to help them focus
Helping children become more self-reflective and having a greater presence of mind over their actions is an incredible way to (w)holistically help individuals and communities. I encourage you to explore Bent on Learning's website to learn more about what they are doing in schools.
I hope to bring awareness to Bent on Learning's mission and work and to also help them continue to bring yoga into the classrooms of NYC public schools. If this is something you would like to support, I encourage you to spread the word and/or to donate some much appreciated money to their cause.
$8 gives one child a yoga class
$175 funds a year of yoga for one child
$500 provides mats for 75 kids
$2,000 funds one class for a semester
$4,000 funds one class for a year
My goal is to raise $1,000. I know that with your help we will be able to bring more yoga to NYC kids!
