Bring Rachel Back for Christmas!
Organized by: David Preston
Rachel is currently serving in Nepal as a Peace Corps volunteer since March 2015. Currently, she is working on Food Security projects, as well as nutrition and health related projects for the men, women and children in the Palpa district. She will be living in Nepal for a total of 27 months.
With a monthly allowance that averages out to the Nepali's monthly income, a trip back to the U.S. is an investment to make. Rachel would love to be back in her hometown, California for the Christmas season to be with her family and friends. This will also be the first time she will be back home since the devastating earthquake that took place in April. Her Peace Corps friends were all evacuated back to the United States immediately after the earthquake. At this time she decided to make a trip back to Japan in order to take care of her father who is in the hospital. It was a difficult decision to make, since the rest of her family and friends are in the U.S., but she knew that she will definitely be making a trip back to the U.S. soon enough. This is a small cause, but with a tight Peace Corps budget all we are asking for is the amount enough to cover her flight. Your donation will get her a two weeks trip back to San Diego for end of December!
