It takes $1,000 on average to keep a family from becoming homeless. Sometimes its a relatively small thing that pushes a family into homelessness. Parents are working, but then a car needs to be repaired and there's no money for it, so they can't get to work. Or they need to find a new apartment and have enough money to pay for monthly rent, but no money for the initial security deposit.
This small amount of funding can prevent families from needing to go into shelters, sleep in other people's living rooms or having to resort to sleeping in the woods or on the streets.
Special incentive --- If we raise $7,500 by the end of June, we can access matching funds that will make $15,000 available to families in our community. This means we'll be able to help 15 families keep their heads up and hearts open.
Please join us in helping keep families healthy and safe!
More about the Bristol Task Group to End Family Homelessness
Our Vision: Bristol is a supportive community where all individuals and families have the means to obtain and sustain safe housing. Any periods of homelessness are brief and people are housed quickly.
Our Mission: The Bristol Task Group to End Family Homelessness works to build a homelessness response and prevention system that meets the dynamic condition of human need. We plan, advocate and take actions to prevent and resole the housing problems and needs of people experiencing homelessness, or at risk of it. Our collaborative and cooperative approach seeks to make any periods of homelessness brief, while preserving human dignity and empowering people to succeed.
