BENEFITING: SOUTH YUBA RIVER CITIZENS LEAGUE
EVENT DATE: Sep 16, 2017
Aloha Dear Friends! If you know me, you know I LOVE picking up trash almost as much as I LOVE rivers! I'm especially stoked that this year's Yuba River Cleanup happens to fall on my 29th birthday!!! .....................(((((((♡)))))))..................... The Yuba River has been a personal sanctuary for me since the first moment I touched her sacred waters four years ago and spent my first night in Nevada County sleeping on her sandy shore. Now I am blessed to live near her with my new little family, and she cleanses and refreshes my body, mind, and spirit on a regular basis. I am eternally grateful for this beautiful body of flowing clean water! It's time for us to show up for the health of this gorgeous waterway and have a blast while doing it! Please sign up, join the team, come volunteer, or donate to support the Yuba and celebrate my birthday. I don't need more things, but I do need clean water... as do you, our children, grandchildren, great grandchildren and beyond. Please consider your donation and your time the best birthday gift I could wish for ♡ Plus! There's free lunch and live music afterwards to celebrate! Donations will go to fund the Yuba River Cleanup, and SYRCL's River Ambassador Program. From their website: The South Yuba River Citizens League (SYRCL – pronounced circle) was founded in 1983 by grassroots activists determined to protect the South Yuba River from dams. Ultimately, SYRCL won permanent protections for 39 miles of the South Yuba River under California’s Wild and Scenic Rivers Act. Today, SYRCL is the central hub of community activism to protect, restore, and celebrate the Yuba River watershed. With over 34 years of achievements, 3,500 members and 1,300 active volunteers, SYRCL is doing great things for the Yuba watershed. We are working to restore wild salmon to their native waters. We are replanting the banks of the Goldfields with trees. We are inspiring activism across the globe with our environmental film festival. Together, we are extending our powerful coalition from the Sierra to the sea. ... See you on the Yuba! ! !
