Dear family and friends,
On January 28, 2013 I will be headed to Nicaragua, the poorest Spanish speaking country in the world, to spend two weeks working with the amazing nonprofit NICA (Nicaragua Initiative for Community Advancement) as part of my MA in Social Entrepreneurship & Change program at Pepperdine University. I will be staying and working in the tiny fishing village of El Transito on the Pacific Coast working with NICA to develop community gardens for the residents of the village.
This is a rare opportunity to work in an environment that is culturally rich but lacking in many basic human necessities such as access to clean water, electricity and sustainable healthy foods due to an unstable infrastructure and extreme poverty. I am asking for your assistance in helping to raise $1,500 for the trip. Any amount will help and your donation goes directly to NICA and is tax deductible.
I am both honored and humbled to be able to have the opportunity to immerse myself in the Nicaraguan culture and to learn about developing sustainable business models to address social issues with the incredible folks at NICA. I greatly appreciate your support in this journey.
