Ainsley's Angels is thrilled to help ensure Brody can soon roll with the wind safely in the brand new BLADE, by Team Hoyt Racing Chairs! With your generosity, we are certain this can happen soon.
Here is a note from Brody's Mom:
Brody is a sweet, endearing boy who, upon birth, suffered a traumatic head injury. This resulted in permanent damage to his brain; subsequently, Spastic Quadriplegic Cerebral Palsy, Autism, and Epilepsy. He is non-verbal, currently unable to walk, and is completely dependent on his family for his care. Despite these disadvantages, he remains a pillar of motivation, determination, and inspiration. His sweet face invokes a smile, even from the most distant strangers. He is truly a blessing.
As a mom of five children, I have a passion for physical fitness, particularly exercises in which they all can be included. Fortunately, my children are following closely in my footsteps, especially in regards to running. Brody's sibling love to include him in as many adventures as they are capable, and have expressed a keen interest in pushing him in some of the races. It wasn't until three years ago when Brody's Pre-K teacher invited us to join Team Hoyt that we realized Brody's love of running. The wind in his face, spinning wheels all around, feet rhythmically tapping the ground, sunlight peeking through the trees creating a spectacular light show, vibrations from the wheels coursing the bumpy pavement... A sensory wonderland, generously provided by those who dedicate their time and energy to fulfill his senses. No other activity provides him with so much collective satisfaction. His legs may not be able to propel his body through the breeze, but where he is weak, we are strong for him. Our legs are his, and the wheels facilitate his journey... one race at a time.
