BENEFITING: AKTIV Against Cancer
EVENT DATE: May 28, 2015
“If physical activity was a pill, it would be the most prescribed medicine in the world.” - Grete Waitz
AKTIV against cancer, the charitable legacy of international running icon Grete Waitz, works to ensure that physical activity will become an integral part of cancer treatment. AKTIV funds cutting edge research on the benefits of exercise for the treatment and prevention of cancer, as well as the creation of physical activity centers in cancer treatment facilities.
Bootcamp for Charity, hosted by Barry’s Bootcamp, is a fitness fundraiser where teams of two will compete in Barry’s signature workout to raise money for AKTIV Against Cancer. All the proceeds from Bootcamp for Charity will go towards AKTIV’s research at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center.
Barry's Instructor Matt Nolan will lead an adrenaline-filled one-hour class that will have you running, sprinting and lifting for your life! You will sweat your way through a full-body workout that will consist of a 30 minute cardio routine on state-of-the-art Woodway treadmills and a 30 minute strength training routine with weights.
Barry's Bootcamp is a workout for all levels of fitness, serving Olympians and first-timers alike!
