Let me start by asking you a question, which i want you to really think about. Recall a moment when you really felt hungry or heard from someone you know how he is suffering from obesity. How did that make you suffer? Even for a tiny moment you shared the pain and agony of billions of people going through these afflictions. We from extremities throught our lives and that is the way the universe telling you how someone with that affliction feels and suffers. To be honest i have never tried fundraising for any cause but i too have been through a lot of harsh moments and also know the joy i got when i passed through those times. The 2015 Global Hunger Index (GHI) Report ranked India 20th amongst leading countries with a serious hunger situation. Subodh Varma, writing in The Times of India, states that on the Global Hunger Index India is on place 67 among the 80 nations having the worst hunger situation which is worse than nations such as North Korea or Sudan. 25% of all hungry people worldwide live in India. In India 44% of children under the age of 5 are underweight. 72% of infants and 52% of married women have anaemia. Research has conclusively shown that malnutrition during pregnancy causes the child to have increased risk of future diseases, physical retardation, and reduced cognitive abilities. As for obesity : It has reached epidemic proportions in India in the 21st century, with morbid obesity affecting 5% of the country's population. According to a study, number of overweight and obese people globally increased from 857 million in 1980 to 2.1 billion in 2013. This is one-third of the world's population. These are just some appaling facts anyone can pull out from the internet and it's just the tip of the icerberg we wish to melt.
