BENEFITING: WOUNDED WARRIOR PROJECT
EVENT DATE: Apr 01, 2014
Brother's in Arms was started by Jeremy Stone; an Army Veteran credited with saving 7 lived while under fire in Iraq. And his younger brother Joshua Stone; an aspiring Air-Force Academy cadet.
We recently learned that financial support for Veteran related charities is at an all time low; we felt it nothing short of a travesty that since the war in Iraq & Afghanistan began over a decade ago, a new generation has come of age that simply isn’t old enough to remember the patriotism that united our country in the years following 9/11.
Our hero’s still face all the same hardships, both physical & financial, as in times past; but with public donations & Government aid shrinking, they’re enduring hardships that will not be defeated by sheer force of will & tenacity alone. To that end we will endeavor to embark on a 150 mile journey, on foot, through Death Valley in order to raise money for the wounded warriors project, and do our small part.
If successful, this will be the first time anyone has ever walked from the two farthest points in the valley and survived. It’s a land of extremes, frequently exceeding temperatures of 130 degrees during the day, and dropping to zero at night.
