Hi my name is Claudia and I am an avid animal lover. I enjoy especially enjoy parrots and other exotic birds. I rescue exotic birds all the time, sometimes they outlive their owner’s or unexpected life situations may happen and/or come from distressed home that no longer can give them the attention they deserve. Whatever the case may be, they have good options available to them at Broward Parrot Rescue, and it was formed completely out of love for exotic parrot family. Each bird gets individualized care, we know a new home can be a stressful time for a bird; on this note, I also welcome special needs birds and we make our best efforts to rehabilitate them with the proper care & nutrition. We do provide avian vet visits to make the necessary adjustments in the bird’s recovery efforts. I am in pursuit of expanding my mission to save these beautiful birds, as some do require avian vet visits and that can be very costly. I do ask to please see it in your heart to help us. The birds we save do not get offer for breeding or sold. It’s more of a retirement living paradise for them. We are interested in providing a good home where they can grow out their feathers and have a chance to fly as they were intended too. There is nothing more satisfying, than to witness free flighted Parrots roaming free in harmony. Of course not all our rescues will have these opportunities but we can try to make their stay as comfortable as possible when disabilities are apparent and addressed too with proper care. We are in need of funding now as we need to build larger Aviaries due to our expanding care. We started 2 years and half ago, saving two Green cheek conure parrots; the two birds had one eye each & were housed in a small cage. That is what started everything they were never allowed to fly and that broke our hearts and now they fly and have a 20ft by 12ft playground (aviary) with our other beautiful fully feathered flock member. I know that they are very happy, truthfully I must admit, I am happier than they are, to be able to take delight in watching them fly as they were born to do. We now house over 80 birds and continue and regretfully have to turn away other needy birds on an ongoing basis. We just recently rescued two more Greencheek Conures . The two birds have one leg each and were born in this condition. We look forward to helping these beautiful birds. They all deserve a good quality life. This is why we are in a mission to help these exotic birds. I am in need of donations, as we have outgrown our aviary needs, building material and support for ongoing care veterinary avian care. Thanks for your support and taking the time learn about our flock members and mission.
