Help me raise $1000 towards Brown Boi Project's $10,000 fundraising goal! Support a gender justice movement led by young people of color.
A few of you may know I’ve been a Leader within Brown Boi Project (BBP) since the March 2014 Leadership Cohort. BBP has become an important place for me to support my community and fight for gender justice. When I was selected to attend the Leadership retreat in 2014, I had no expectations or true concept about my masculinity, brownness or where I stood as a Trans-Masculine identified individual in this world. Over the last few years, BBP has prepared me to be a transparent, authentic and self-aware leader all while challenging the system to ultimately impact change, but most importantly how to be unapologetic about my Black Queerness.
Last month, a few BBP members reconnected in Las Vegas for a productive weekend of strategy around the future of Brown Boi. We all pledged to be resilient and a source of strength for one another and to utilize our skillsets for maximum impact for our community. I pledged to redirect my anger and deep hurt in the direction of this country towards community building through establishing and maintaining access to health for Queer People-of-Color (POC).
I ask that you please help me achieve my modest goal by contributing $100 towards supporting Youth of Color in standing strong and fighting for gender justice in this country that has hurt so many of us. Support of communities of color is needed now more than ever and we are on the brink of implementing great change and touching many lives in 2017. We are extremely excited about the connections built and the visions in development. Please support us! We are counting on YOU!!!!
ABOUT BROWN BOI MOVEMENT STRATEGY CENTER wrote -
We are building the largest leadership pipeline for LGBTQ people of color. From our leadership retreats to our Executive Director training. We give leaders of color the tools to be gender justice leaders. Our work targets LGBTQ leaders, racial justice leaders and activists in the broader gender justice and men and bois of color movements.
BBP trains leaders across the Gender Justice movement. We work with families, community leaders and young people in communities of color to have transformative conversations around gender. Conversations that lead to new ways of thinking and create more support and empowerment for all of us to live as our authentic selves.
Once a year we invite our community, our partners, our parents, our mentors and friends to help us continue this work. Your gift reaches hundreds of leaders. We hope you will join us by making a gift today!
