BENEFITING: HABITAT FOR HUMANITY-REBUILD MICHIGAN
EVENT: Mighty Mac Swim 2016
EVENT DATE: Sep 05, 2016
I enjoy many outdoor activities from all types of water sports and mountain biking/cycling, to training for/competing in triathlons, adventure races, ultra marathons and snowboarding. Being a participant in endurance events helps me to keep a greater perspective of the world around me. Knowing that this event will benefit those who need a safe and stable place to call home is what attracted me to the Mighty Mac Open Water Swim Challenge.
Open water swims are fun for me, and being able to swim across the Straits of Mackinaw is a nice way to add to the collection of sailing through the Straits over many years, and running over these waters via the Mackinaw Bridge. I have completed many other open water swim challenges from Ironman distance, to swimming 5k distance several times, to 7.5k out of a 10k open water swim event. I have even finished the Michigan Open Water Swim Challenge Series twice, sponsored by Eva Solomon and Epic Races. The MMS is a great challenge for an excellent cause. I am excited to be a part of this whole endeavor! Raising money for a most worthy cause such as Habitat for Humanity of Michigan is quite appealing. You can swim along with me over this famous body of water, through your donations, knowing you will be with me every stroke of the way. The swim is 4.2 miles and I need to raise at least $4,800. That is about $1.50 per yard. Please sponsor as many yards as you can. All donations are greatly appreciated! THANK YOU!
