Several years ago I was diagnosed with cancer. There were so many questions at the time and I was scared. I had always been in peak physical shape and had competed at some of the highest levels of sports. My battle with this disease included surgery and several brutal rounds of chemotherapy. I lost my hair, 40 lbs, and I vomited 10-15 times a day.
Fighting this disease was the hardest thing I've ever done, but these treatments eliminated the cancer. I'm alive today because of cancer research and the funding that made it possible. However, there are still too many lives and families affected by cancers that recieve little or no funding for research.
For the last two years i've been teaming up with Bruins and Trojans as part of Rivals United for a Kure, an event held by Kure It to raise money for underfuned cancer research. All of this year's proceedes will be divided equally and given to the UCLA Jonnson and USC Norris Comprehensive cancer centers.
In the last two years we've net nearly $600,000 and this year our goal is to net $500,000.
I invite you to make a donation to my Crowdrise page. Every dollar matters and together we can beat this disease.
