BENEFITING: NOBLE AND GREENOUGH SCHOOL
EVENT DATE: Nov 08, 2014
On Saturday November 8th at 5pm, Nobles will be hosting a hockey game on campus with the Boston Bruins Alumni Association to benefit the Achieve program. A team of Nobles grads, parents and friends will take on the Bruins Alumni Team in what's sure to be a fun and exciting game! Your donation will support players on the Nobles roster who are fundraising for Achieve.
All proceeds from the event will go directly to Achieve, a tuition-free academic enrichment program for middle school-age Boston children from low-income families. Achieve involves a three-year commitment during which each student will experience a total of three intensive 6-week summer sessions and two academic year tutoring programs. The goal is to close the achievement gap between lower and higher income youth, curb summer learning loss, promote academic growth, and instill in these kids the confidence, motivation and engagement they need to be put on the path to and through college. The program is hosted at Nobles, which provides space and equipment, but Achieve must raise all of the funds necessary to support the general operation. Achieve just finished its 7th summer with an enrollment of 65 students.
