*HELP GINNY TACKLE ALZHEIMER'S*
Can you believe that it's that time again? It's time to tackle Alzheimer's!!!!
Alzheimer’s disease is the nation’s sixth-leading cause of death and an estimated 5.4 million Americans are living with the disease. These two facts alone shed some light on how prevalent and destructive this terrible disease is.
After being a part of the founding committee for the inaugural game 3 years ago in San Diego (as well as playing for the Brunettes), being the OVERALL TOP FUNDRAISER, in 2013 and seeing the impact our efforts had- by not only raising over $50,000 for the Alzheimer's Association of Imperial County, but by getting so many people involved to come together under one cause- It was evident that we are doing something, but we can do so much more.
My Grandfather suffered from Dementia. Alzheimer's is a type of dementia that causes problems with memory, thinking and behavior. I loved my grandfather very much and I want to do everything I can to stop Alzheimer's. In addition, Pat Summitt (Head Women's Basketball Coach-University of Tennessee- 1974 to 2012) also suffers from Alzheimer's and she has always been someone that I looked up to, before, during and after my time at UT.
Please join me in my efforts to reach MY goal of $2,000 for the Blondes vs Brunettes Flag Football Game to end Alzheimer's. Any little bit helps.
And in the name of competition- Go Brunettes!!! "The ultimate victory in competition is derived from the inner satisfaction of knowing that you have done your best and that you have gotten the most out of what you had to give."
Thank you for your generosity :)
