BENEFITING: BRANDMAN UNIVERSITY
Brandman University has created the Bryan A. Fazio scholarship to honor Bryan and his strength, brave determination and dedication to assisting other Veterans. You can support this scholarship with a tax deductible donation of any amount. The funds raised through this campaign will go directly to disabled or wounded veteran students. The scholarship fund has already benefited several veteran students in 2014 (read more about that here).
What would you do if doctors told you that in 9 months, you’d most likely be dead? For most people, the answer would not be to double-up on your graduate school classes so you can earn your MBA before you die. That’s what U.S. Navy Veteran Bryan Fazio did. When he did this emotional interview about his grim cancer diagnosis, nobody expected him to live past the end of 2013 – nobody except for Bryan, that is. Not only has he survived, but he’s living an inspirational life dedicated to helping fellow Veterans. Fazio’s aggressive form of Hodgkin’s lymphoma (diagnosed in early 2010) has led to six rounds of chemo and two failed bone marrow transplants. Yet, his faith and his experience in the Navy has trumped all of the experts dire predictions. Since his diagnosis, he has earned two master’s degrees, one in business administration and a second in organizational leadership from Brandman University. He is currently enrolled in law school and he wants to focusing his legal career on the challenges vets face in establishing themselves in civilian life.
Throughout all this, Fazio has undertaken his own crusade to assist Vets by providing them with direction and guidelines to access much-needed benefits these survivors are entitled to as a result of their sacrifices for their country.
