BENEFITING: BLESSED TRINITY CATHOLIC CHURCH
EVENT DATE: Jun 19, 2013
Recently, I have been invited to participate in a mission project in Nalweyo, Uganda; organized through Blessed Trinity Catholic Church in Ocala, Florida. Blessed Trinity’s congregation and Father Patrick Sheedy have been raising money and sending funds and volunteers to help their sister parish in Nalweyo since 2004 when it all began. They have helped this community completely rebuild their church-add a primary school, rectory, and a Convent, the St. Nicholas Center. The number of parishioners grows everyday, and currently stands at about 30,000 with members from all around Central Africa. They have made a significant impact thus far and the community looks forward to the new and previous volunteers coming each summer. Beginning this summer, June 2013, Blessed Trinity will begin construction on a secondary school for the youth of Nalweyo. This is where our help is geared toward this summer.
You as well, can become a part of this mission in prayer and by becoming a part of the financial support team. I believe it will be an exciting time of mutual growth and encouragement. My role in the mission will be versatile working along side different members of our group. During my two-week stay I will split my time working with Cisterean Sisters teaching school, Bible school, reaching out to families and more. The other half of my time will be doing basic work on the construction of the high school. In addition, there will be numerous doctors, dentists, and nurses on this trip providing free medical care to the locals, and I will give a hand wherever is needed.
God willing, I will leave for this mission trip June 21, 2013 and need to have the money raised by the end of March. To show you how your support will be furthering our efforts, you will receive a letter and photographs upon my return to Florida during the middle of July. My fundraising goal is $3300, which covers cost of food, travel, and a donation to the mission. Any money exceeding my goal will be donated to the mission directly. With that being said, every dollar counts, and sets me closer to my goal and the goals of the Uganda Mission.
