BENEFITING: BRIDGER SKI FOUNDATION
EVENT DATE: Aug 10, 2013
On August 10th, I will embark on one of the biggest challenges and adventures I have ever willingly taken on. I will be running in the Bridger Ridge Run, which is a 20 mile trail run in the Bridger Mountains, in Bozeman, MT.
The Ridge Run is known for being one of the most one of the most technical trail runs in the United States, which covers 20 miles, but also 6,800 feet of it climbing and 9,500 feet of it descending.
I am raising awareness and funds for a local organization here in Bozeman that I am very passionate about – The Bridger Ski Foundation (BSF). BSF is a nonprofit community organization based in Bozeman, Montana, that promotes athletic and personal excellence through educational and competitive programs in three Olympic ski disciplines – Nordic, Alpine and Freestyle skiing. Most recently, BSF has produced several Olympians including Bozeman’s own Heather McPhie (freestyle/moguls).
Funds raised will go directly towards the Freestyle team and the purchase of a new bag jump. For a fun look at the Bridger Freestyle Ski Team, visit: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7GB83d2gE9o
Additionally, if I achieve my goal of raising $2000, I will have my kids video me as I ski off a freestyle ramp into the waters at the Utah Olympic Park in Park City (to be posted on YouTube)!
