Buchheit has chosen to donate all proceeds raised at the Buchheit of Herculaneum to Mercy Health Foundation again for 2016. “We see many patients every day who put off their screenings or seeing their doctor because they are worried about the cost,” said Bhaskara Gadi, MD at Mercy Clinic Oncology and Hematology – Jefferson. “Early detection saves lives. This contribution allows more people to get the tests they need in a timely manner and ultimately reduce the pain of cancer.” Through Buchheit’s $5,074.90 donation last year, they have helped men and women that are uninsured or underinsured get tests and treatments they needed. There were twenty-two women they helped - 17 screening mammograms, 2 diagnostic mammograms, and 1 breast ultrasound. They also helped one man with a breast ultrasound and assisted with one breast biopsy.
