Build A Dream
Organized by: Build-a-Dream Overcoming Poverty
I believe in helping others. I can't help with money, yet I give my time, tools and experiance helping others who can't afford. It takes away from my family yet they understand as we aren't able to afford most things in life either. I am a self employed sub contractor trying to support my wife and three children. My gross income last year was only $12,500 and have been struggling greatly. My credit is not good but was able to qualify for an FHA Loan and a Government Grant that covers the down payment. I am unable to afford the price of a lot to build on or the closing costs. Started fundraising to try and raise enough for the lot and closing cost to build my wife and children a home of our own. It won't be a large home ( 1300 sq ft ) just something they are able to call their own. I will do most of the work on my own to keep the cost of the loan as small as possible. As a subcontractor I have framed $300,000+ homes, remodeled entire houses, literally built people's dreams for them. As a Father, is where my hardest job is, in seeing my wife and children's eyes light up, when they see the dream I just built for someone else, followed by the disappoint when they remember its for a stranger and not for them.
I really can't begin to explain the feeling of having the knowledge to build with your hands, and knowing those hands can't afford to build for the ones you love. Any help in giving Hope to four Beautiful Souls, who feel there's not much Hope left in this world cannot be expressed in words.
