Help Syrian refugees build a better life!
These individuals have been uprooted from a country in which they have called home all their lives and thrown into unfamiliar environments. They are ripped from their family and friends, stripped of their belongings, and are given the bare minimum to survive.
There are an estimated 620,000 registered refugees living within Jordan alone. Although Jordan is doing everything they can to provide these individuals with the basic necessities they need to survive, their fundings are too low. Therefore, conditions in refugee camps are dire. Almost half of the households have no heating, a quarter have unreliable electricity and 20% have no functioning toilet. Along with this, individuals die every day due to unreliable medical assistance with illness outbreaks. Incidents of rape, human trafficking, abuse, child labour, exploitation and more are common.
Due to this, 84% of these refugees are choosing to live outside of these camps in abandoned buildings, sheds, garages, and tent settlements on vacant land. Families struggle to pay rent for these spaces astwo-thirds of refugees across Jordan are now living below the national poverty line, and one in six Syrian refugee households is in abject poverty, with less than $40 per person per month to make ends meet.
These individuals have fled their country to stay alive and obtain a better quality of life yet they are still living in awful conditions.
Please help us in aleviating some of their hardships by donating whatever you can to our campaign.
