What: Help us train 50 students at vocational and technical high schools in Indonesia to be changemakers advocating for earthquake-safer construction.
Why: Indonesia is more seismically active than San Francisco, yet lacks widespread knowledge of how to build safe homes.
How: We teach students at Indonesian vocational and technical schools how to design and build earthquake-resistant houses. These students will become engineers, architects, drafters, and construction supervisors, using their knowledge to change construction practice permanently to one that is safe, earthquake-resistant, affordable, and widely accepted by local communities.
We’ve trained 5,700 students so far. Help us train 50 more in 2013.
Please give $20 today and give a lifetime of safer homes.
Gifts made to Build Change through this Challenge represent a gift to the entire mission.
