Building a new business after illness
Organized by: Robert Henson
My name is Robert Henson and I work as an independent Insurance agent in Wisconsin. Every so often I come across a person in need of support, sometimes its just someone that needs advice or have someone listen to them, sometimes its someone that needs to be put in touch with the right contact to solve a problem. This time the person I am trying to help lost their job as a result of getting sick and has been struggling to get better and build a business. His health has prevented him from finding work as an employee and rather that apply for social security disability he started his own business. He needs a speedy cash injection to prevent his car from being repossed which would prevent him from working and his business will die. He has had to pay medical bills and I have helped him get Medicaid and food stamps but before that used his car payment to pay for his drugs because he lost his health insurance.
I have known this person for about 5 years and he has always put others first. I have approached different organizations to try and get him help but he has not fit their criteria - he has to lose his car before he might qualify for help. The stress he is under is causing his health to worsen and he just needs enough money to get over the next three to four months when his business is expecting some repeat work.
This is the first time I have attempted to raise money for a cause like this. Please help me to take the pressure off a very proud person that is scared to ask for help.
