We just got back from a hugely successful summer intensive, the cornerstone of our year-long Transform Youth Leadership Program. Help us maintain the momentum we built and start out the fall in a strong financial position. We need to raise $10,000 to pay for program facilitators, cover costs for snacks and supplies, and ensure that our youth-led work stays strong. Will you join us?
We are still buzzing from the success of the two-week summer program. The young women in this year's cohort are AMAZING, and described this powerful experience as "life-changing," "builds confidence," and "made me feel like I could take on the world." Participants got real about their experiences and perspectives of race, gender, religion, immigration, and more. We witnessed incredible growth in individuals and the group as a whole through the process.
This group of blossoming young leaders now moves into the school-year part of the program where they meet monthly in home groups, come together for two weekend retreats, and put into action projects in their own school or neighborhood about an issue they are passionate about.
We've already come so far, and with your help we can't wait to see the transformation the school year will bring!
Building Bridges is a community-driven 501c(3) nonprofit, and our mission is to equip young people with the communication and leadership skills necessary to address the root causes of hatred, discrimination, and violence. We create a safe space for young people to meet face to face with those they have been taught to fear. Together, they develop personal connections based on empathy and respect and the confidence to transform divisive attitudes in their communities.
