Building for Babies - Zimbabwe 2015/2016
Organized by: Angela Isaac
Every day in the middle of Zimbabwe, pregnant women are walking up to 75 miles prior to experiencing the miracle of childbirth. Often this journey is accompanied by their families, who will help take care of them before and after giving birth. We are spending two weeks in Zimbabwe this December and January building a 4,000 square foot facility. This facility is located at at Chidamoyo Hospital and will allow hundreds of women who are about to give birth - and have walked for days to get there - a roof over their heads and a bed to sleep on while they wait, plus a place to prepare postpartum for their journey back home.
