This August 15th, BUILD launches in Los Angeles with our pilot school and our inaugural class of more than 100 high school students.
We need your help!
Help us develop the college and career skills of our current freshmen students (and thousands more in years to come), by supporting BUILD's work in Los Angeles. BUILD is a national youth entrepreneurship and college readiness organization that uses experiential learning and mentorship to directly impact students from under-resourced communities. Your gift is tax deductible and will directly benefit the students in our program. The process is fast, easy, and secure... and you will be directly high school students in South Los Angeles with your support!
How you can Help
Train a mentor: $120 ($10 monthly)
BUILD students receive weekly support from a volunteer mentor. BUILD trains and supports our mentors with a full-time Community Engagement Manager. Your $10 monthly donation supports the initial recruitment and ongoing training one mentor who works with five students throughout their freshman year.
Materials for a Student Business: $300 ($25 monthly)
BUILD freshmen create their own business in a team. These are actual businesses with an actual product to sell. Those products require materials to produce, and your $25 monthly donation will provide the funding a student business team and the launch of their entrepreneurial experience.
Student Business Awards: $600 ($50 monthly)
The Business Plan Competition is the culminating experience for the 9th grade year, highlighting and celebrating all that students have learned in running their businesses. Your donation can help go to awards for the students. Prizes may include, but are not limited to: loan forgiveness and monetary awards for their company.
Pitch Event Sponsorship: $1,200 ($100 monthly)
BUILD teaches public speaking skills as part of its work with students. Four times each year, students pitch their business to potential investors and customers. Your $100 monthly gift will ensure the success of these events and the success of our students!
