BENEFITING: WARREN COUNTY HABITAT FOR HUMANITY INC
EVENT DATE: Oct 01, 2014
The goal of this fundraiser is to raise $3,000 by October 1 for the interior walls of a Habitat house (scroll through the pictures). Our Habitat for Humanity team is currently working with the Cappards, a partner family of six with two working parents and four children. (You can use this link to learn more about requirements of our partner families.) The youngest Cappard child was born with Crit du Chat Syndrome, a chromosome deletion disorder, and is unable to speak, walk, or feed himself.
The family finances were reduced dramatically by the closing of the father’s employer, and the medical bills amassed for treatment of the special needs child. The family is incredibly hard-working, which conforms to Habitat for Humanity’s basic tenet of giving a helping hand, and not a handout. The mother pursued healthcare certification and is now working full time. The father now has a job as a bus driver, and both parents are contributing the hundreds of hours to Habitat for Humanity required in its by-laws.
Be a part of this effort to support our partner family! Donate! Become a fundraiser, it's amazingly simple and a lot of fun (scroll through pictures for instructions). Support our efforts, follow our progress and if you do nothing else, share our site with your friends.
