BENEFITING: NORTH AMERICA MASABA CULTURAL ASSOCIATION
Heavy rains in Bulambuli District and surrounding areas in eastern Uganda have caused a series of mudslides and flooding that has killed at least 45 people so far and adversely affected 26, 115 households .Gardens and the small holder farms that are main food source in the region have been completely destroyed . Bridges, roads connecting farmers to markets, pupils to schools and residents to health workers have been swept away by mud and swollen rivers. The North America Masaba Cultural Association , a member organization based in the United States and Canada is made of individuals whose original homeland is in the affected area's, is fundraising to provide emergency relief in the form of food, clothing , cooking utensils and blankets.
* According the Red-cross Uganda 26, 115 households (127, 571 people) have been directly affected
* $ 10,000 would provide ample food supply to the worst affected .
