EVENT: Saving Pets Challenge 2015
EVENT DATE: May 04, 2015
We need YOU! With your generosity, you can help Bullmastiff Rescuer’s win the top prize of $50,000 from Michelson Found Animals by being the top fundraiser! 100% of your donation goes towards our beloved dogs who need us.
Our dedicated volunteers focus on senior and sick Bullmastiffs and offer them a chance to enjoy a little bit of life for whatever amount of time they have. This includes hospice care for many, where these beautiful creatures can leave the world peacefully, painlessly, and in someone’s loving arms. We provide orthopedic and eye surgeries for dogs that would otherwise be euthanized, treatment for generalized demodex, heartworm testing/treatment, vaccinations, microchipping, spay/neuter, and other medical needs specific to each dog.
Our focus is to provide for the safety of Bullmastiffs in need as quickly as possible by getting them into our foster program.
There are a multitude of challenges faced by all animal rescue groups, and by Bullmastiff rescue groups in particular. While transportation, vet care, and foster care are critical to aid any breed, they are magnified for extra-large breed dogs. Space concerns are greater, breed experience is more important, and understanding the temperament is vital as well. Veterinary expenses increase dramatically due to the sheer size and the complexity of the various health issues that typically affect Bullmastiffs. Another important part of this effort involves educating prospective adopters regarding the characteristics and temperament of the Bullmastiff breed, and offering mentoring and other assistance for the life of the adopted pet.
We do not let large veterinary expenses discourage us. We do the best we can with every single dog that is rescued into our group. We provide whatever they need in order to be rehabilitated, and truly give them a fair chance at life - sometimes the chance that no one else has ever given them. With your support, we can continue to take in the many dogs that no one else will. Thank you!
