About National Teachers Academy
- Joined Urban Initiatives’ Work to Play program in the fall of 2014.
- Located in the South Loop neighborhood in Chicago and has 611 students.
- 88% of the school population is hispanic. 88% come from low-income households.
- New to Work to Play this year, NTA has created a team of dedicated and focused soccer players! For many of them it was first time ever playing the game, but they quickly learned and have said that soccer is now their favorite sport!
- For their service-learning project, they have found a passion in helping children with cancer, so they are launching a fundraiser in May to benefit Lurie Children’s Hospital.
