Tech Start-Up Fund - Helping Long-distance Relationships
Organized by: Cohen Coberly
Hello, everyone! Cohen here. I'm a young entrepreneur (19) looking to break into the world of business. I've known I wanted to be my own boss and start my own business from a young age, but never really knew how to get started, nor did I know what field I wanted to start that business in. I knew entrepreneurs were supposed to solve problems, but what problem could I solve? Everything seemed to have been done already... Until I started looking around me, at the things I personally struggled with.
That's when my idea came for a tech start-up. In my case, an online business dedicated to helping those in long-distance relationships connect on a more intimate level. This is very close to my heart due to my personal involvement in a long-distance relationship in the past (Fortunately, we now live together!).
I know firsthand the strain and frustration that long-distance relationships can cause in each party's lives, and I want to help alleviate that. This money will go towards hiring a freelance programmer and designer to help make this website a reality, as well as initial hosting and domain name costs. The website will allow couples to watch videos together (In sync), listen to music, as well as chat via voice, text, or video - all simultaneously.
Additionally, I would love to be able to implement a system that allows those couples that are into gaming to screen-share and play games together - just as if they were in the same room. Any money left over will go towards business costs and upkeep, such as hiring on additional personnel if the business grows to that point, and consulting fees with accountants, lawyers, etc. (Again, if it grows to that level). If this idea sounds interesting to you, be sure to donate - every little bit helps, and will come closer to making my dream a reality!
