My journey began when I was 18 with just the normal blood test of a ANA. And as we all know that test really doesn't prove much. So, I continued on with my life and had a family went to college and lived my. When I turned 40 I had a bone spur in my neck and had to have a neck compression from my c3-/c-7. My PCP felt at the time I was also have a flare from Lupus and wanted more testing but felt that the surgery was needed admittedly. I recovered from the surgery but knew that something was still wrong. I went back to my PCP and had blood work done and when the results returned we were faced with the reality that I had Mono and that I also was positive for Lupus and even MS. I have been through so much this last 5 years. And the sad thing is that both my diceased Grandmother and still living Aunt have Lupus. The MS came from when I had my surgery and the mono attacked my spinal cord. I am doing this event because I live in a daily world of difference between the world. Many people who look at me do not understand that I wake up everyday not knowing how much pain or energy I will have or if I will be able to walk or move. I know that there are so many other complications I could put on here but I would rather not. I would rather educate people by letting them get to know me. I want to raise funds for our people so we can get the word out. And get the treatment we need to start helping us get to a better place, than the place we are all living in now. By the grace of God I know that this can be done. Only if we get together and speak to the right people. Let the fun begin.
